Im relaying this information from Mary Lou :

Monthly Cemetary Clean-up / maintenance.
First Saturday of every month
9:00 am - 12 noon
starting with June 6th .

She will see what kind of turn out
it gets to see if can it be a regular thing !

We need to get more community support
for this to work !

Spread the word !!

There are some rakes and shovels there,
but you are more than welcome to bring
some stuff from home too !

Erin :D

very good i had ask Mary Lou if she was going to have a regular clean up day. i am glad she is going to try it. i have come to relize that we can not count on the gov. to help us out and the only way to keep our town clean and neat is to do it ourselfs. now to get more people involved. i usually spend a few hours a month cleaning up foothill plus i am willing to give a couple hours a month to help clean the cemetary. i know we will be able to make our town shine

Hey BV! I love the photo of you and your kids. What a good example you are setting for them! Bravo to you!! Also, can Wyatt get community service hours for this? You should document it and have the person in charge sign it for his future hours.

Yes ! I talked with his teacher and she
said " of course that counts towards his
service hours ! "
I learned SO much from Mary Lou Pozzo,
she is a great lady ! I could talk to her all day !
Talking to her makes me wanna do all I can
to help in any way I can up there at the cemetary !
I told her I would post info here and to tell
everyone I could about the next cemetary clean up
and she was thrilled !

So Save the date !!

SATURDAY, JUNE 6TH
9:00 AM - 12NOON
7000 Parsons Trail

Donations of cactus would be helpful..she uses them to line the bottoms of the gates as she still has problems with people scaling the fences (regardless of the barbed wire) and coming in.

Succulents like aloe vera would be useful for some of the planters, as she has limited use of water so everything needs to be sort of a self sufficient kind of plant. I'll go again in Jun and talk to Mary Lou about "gardening" stuff.

She also doesn't feel buying colorful plastic flowers for the graves is a good idea as the winds often get very intense up there and all the flowers end up stuck along the fence!
