Thanks!

I'm right near Mt. Gleason School and noticed the ash here too.

As of this morning - the Station Fire near Angeles Crest Highway north of La Canada Flintridge has burned 30 acres. The fire is 20-percent contained, said Pam Bierce, a spokeswoman with the Southern California Incident Management team, the federal government agency that is coordinating the firefighting effort.

We are covered in ash. Just ran into the Glendale fire dept at Vons on Pennsylvania. I asked how likely it is to jump on our side. He said very likely if the wind shifts or picks up. He told me to get my stuff in order just in case.

The forecast says 5mph winds blowing South all afternoon... let's hope that's not strong enough to cause problems.

My Cousin Hernan is the guy who's actually coordinating the air drops!

The plume was easily seen this morning from the 210. I saw aircraft dropping flame retardant.

We're all the way back in the canyon in upper Briggs Terrace and about 12:15 or so the flames crested a ridge and were really visible. It was pretty scary! There still is a lot of smoke and the planes and helicopters are going over pretty regularly.

I pulled out a few things to take, if we do need to evacuate.

Well the wind is blowing north now so lets hope it blows it back the other way now. My husband is your UPS man and he's coughing up a lung right now. I dont see how they can work in this! I may encourage him to take the day off tomorrow!
