THANK YOU Erickson Air Crane!

* Our patented ram scoop hydrofoil allows the Helitanker to refill from fresh water and sea water sources in less than 45 seconds.

* A flexible hose snorkel features a high pressure impeller and can draw water from any water source 18 inches (45 cm) or deeper as fast as 45 seconds.

* The 2,650 gallon (~10,000 litre) tank drops water, retardant, or foam mix. Microprocessor controlled tank doors offer eight individual coverage level options.

With the amount of people that were parked in the OSH parking lot, to watch the fire, we should have had a TFF get together.

I'm not joking around or trying to be funny, we just went out there to get a look, there were already around 10-20 people there.

My cousin is in command of the water drops. One of the cranes is named Isabella and it was just used last in Santa Cruz fire. He said if any structures are threatened they will call the water drops back in. Right now it's just ground crew holding the line.

We drove around earlier to get a closer look and we certainly were not alone.

KCAL is reporting that there are now mandatory evacuations in the upper areas of LCF nearest the fire, going as far down as the La Canada Country Club.

- - - - - -

edit: According to the 11 p.m. update on http://lacanadaflintridge.com:

A voluntary evacuation order has been issued to the area from La
Canada Blvd on the west, Vista Del Valle on the south, Angeles Crest
Highway on the south, Starlight Crest Drive on the south,
Greenridge Dr. on the east, and all this area to the north; a reverse
911 message has been send to residents in this area; the evacuation
location is La Canada High School

I know they're using air support in Rancho Palos Verdes. I've heard aircraft overhead all day, but not tonight locally.

How can you guys be out looking at the fire? The smoke has been bothering me too much to be out.

I now know why CA. is always broke. It's expensive to keep fighting so many fires on a monthly basis.

ONLY if structures are in danger. They stopped our water drops but my cousin says they will resume IF it threatens any homes. It's very dangerous to do that at night in the mountains.
