What type of dog is this?

Does anyone know what type of dog this is? My mother sent me this photos and thinks it a coyote and I think its definetely not. Its been sitting on her grass and Im trying to convince her its not a coyote pup to save it, she's got lots of coyotes in her area.

If you do a Google search for coyote photos you'll get oodles of pictures of coyotes--IMHO the dog in your photo does not look like a coyote.

Chihuahua mixed breed. Not a coyote.

Seriously, it's too small to be a coyote. It is a chihuahua. There are many types, shapes, and sizes these days. Poor little guy. Will it come to her? I hope she rescues it.
