Hi guys,

While doing gardening in my backyard today, I noticed these holes in the hillside. Any idea what type of animal is responsible?

I just found that on Google. It made me laugh. That's one way to dispatch the rodents! We have had probably over 100 come over the fence from the wash this year. Seems to be a prolific species this year.

They have also taken over CV Park. Never saw them in such abundance before (at least not in 25 plus years.)

Do not poison them! Their bodies will kill beneficial animals!

To control these rodents next time you or a friend give your/their dog a haircut do so BEFORE giving the dog a bath and push some of this fur down the holes........the rodents will go elsewhere due to a preditor being in the area.

Do not wash the dog before the haircut as you want the "natural" smell to be in the fir.....brush the dog well to save the clippers and scissors from being dulled by any dirt/grit.

We have enough poison in our world, nature does it right!

I would never do that! I can't even stand to see a snail suffer.

We have a big dog in our yard. Squirrels come over anyway.

Do you have a bitch? Male dog hair works best for running off rodents, however both my bitchs and dogs hair put in rodent holes works. A dog in the yard does not provide the intensity that fur in a rodent hole will do......try it.

 :o I resemble that remark!! Now seriously, HB. you have the right dog with all that fur! And isn't this the time of year that they begin to shed their summer coat? Maybe you could bag it and market it! Maybe at the farmer's market? :P Blondie, you could do the same with your furry K9. Sorry, mine are all short-hair models. But what a great idea! Thanks for the tip.

Also the intoduction of a "new" preditor will do magic sending these rodents off.

So, we can all trade our special fur blends.
