August 4th is National Night Out and brings communities and their local Representatives together in order to support the police and educate community members regarding on how to take the "Bite out of Crime." Its the day when Neighborhoods show support for the police by putting blue light bulbs and/or blue ribbons on their porch lights. Communities can register enter a contest with the "National Night Out” organization to gain recognition for their efforts.
All Nations Church, 1000 Foothill Blvd in Lake View Terrace is hosting a community party and the church is providing a BBQ. Senior Lead Officer Larry Martinez, who covers Sunland, Shadow Hills and Lake View Terrace will be present at their event which will start at 6 pm -10:00pm. RSVP at 818 470-5235 or email.

It's headed by CPAB member and community activist Phil Tabbi. It begins at 6 pm until 10 pm. Senior Lead Officers Esther Vasquez, who handles Sun Valley and Michelle Rodriguez who also handles Sun Valley and La Tuna Canyon will be in attendance.
Little Landers Park/Bolton Ball, 10110 Commerce Avenue will be the site of their 2nd annual event. which is sponsored by CPAB. Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council and ST-SERVS. Festivities will include, BBQ Hot Dogs, Pot Luck and Live Music courtesy of Emerson's Wired Cafe. Rich Wall, Senior Lead Officer for Tujunga, will be attendance. Note: Valmont will be closed between Valmont and Samoa. Parking is being arranged at the Elks Lodge, Masonic Lodge and The Seventh Day Adventist Church. Entrance to Historic Commerce Ave will be blocked at Valmont due to its street renovation which is taking place.
Foothill Division's Commanding Officer, Captain Curreri, Patrol Captain Minsal and Community Relations Officer Sergeant II Egger will be making the rounds to all of the above events.
