Does anyone know who paid for these banners and the cost of each banner? Thanks.

I do not remember the cost of the banners. The money for the banners was a donation to the school specifically for the banners. No money came out of school budgets to pay for them.

If you would like to be part of the planning process for the events I can get you information on the next meeting.

The weekend of the 75th anniversary will be filled with fun events and reunion activities. Those events will not cost the school money as they are being done with donations too. The goal will be to have these events raise money for the school. Who knows, maybe some past alumni will come back to the school and decide to sponsor some school activities. We do have quite a few alumni celebrities.

Are the Smothers Brothers still alive?

I believe they are. Some other graduates are J.P. Morgan, A. Martinez, wow brain cramp. I know there are more but names are escaping me now. They have a list on Verdugo's website verdugohs.org

The Smothers brothers went to verdugo but did not graduate from there . they moved to redondo beach and graduated HS from there. Tom was student body president 1 year at VHHS.

Tom and Dick were born in New York City, graduated form Redondo Union High School in Southern California, and attended San Jose State University. Tom was a gymnast and Dick on the track team.
