You're not gonna believe what I got in the mail today. I received a friendly looking pamphlet from Home Depot saying that they are "looking forward to serve our community." There's an open house workshop scheduled for Tuesday, June 24th at Mount Gleason's Multipurpose Room. There's also a postcard for those who support the cause. Have they no respect for us? I mean, we were here before they were.

I just got mine. I put NO2HOmeDEPOT in big letters across the postcard they wanted sent back...but instead of detaching it...to make an extra point... I took the whole thing and stuck in a medium size manila envelope I already had on hand, stuck two stamps on it...and put it right back in the mailbox to go out. It was worth the two stamps and the envelope...to get my point across!

I have no idea why  , but Home Depot never mails me these brochures.
I'll have to track one down over the weekend.

My flier was filled out much like Erin's.

The P.O. Box bothers me too.
The flyer states, by mailing back my support, I "will let City officals know you want a new store in the community." That is not a "City officials" address! I fear "no votes" may be lost in the sorting.

I called the information hotline and got a recording that told me to leave a detailed message and someone would get back to me.

Tragically........I suspect they NEVER even read them, but put them in a stack and say "see look at all those supporters who sent in cards" or some such. I hope whomever is told this is smart enough to actually READ the cards. Cindy has two Joe. I usually don't get them either. We're earmarked as Bad Hats by the Home Depot firms doing mailers.

Ooops........just checked my mail and guess what is there! It has the post card that you mail in already marked with a checkmark in support of them. Now I am really worried that they won't look but will count all cards received as supportive. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I am resisting the temptation to vent on them and not sending it in. Creepy organization really does do some weirdo stuff.

I was thinking that, too - that they may just rubberband them and claim it is a support response. I haven't sent mine back - was waiting to see if there was any group action you wanted us to take.

I agree with Hummingbird. They will just put a rubberband around the whole stack and say that these are all supporters. It's just like with the Open House, they'll spin that to say x amount of supporters showed up
even if it is really x amount of opponents.

why not bring the responses to the open house, and deliver them personally?

Joe - Maybe we should ask everyone who sends in a NO2HOMEDEPOT response card to make a copy and send it to STA... that way when they say they received X amount of support cards, we can say "well first deduct all of these."

It is funny that the card offers no option to select that you do not support them.

Hmmmm, there's an idea! And what if we all are wearing our NO HOME DEPOT tshirts (should we order more?)?

I got one of those today, also.

My questions are: Why/how does HD get permission to use our public school
campuses for commercial presentations? Are they paying to rent the
hall and if so, ho much does it cost? Is this a "normal" usage of a school?
What other business have been able to use the school facilities for an
obviously commercial purpose?
