Anyone have any info if the Azusa fire has spread? Tony is up in the hills delivering and he says it appears to be behind us. Nothing on the news so far.

Azusa is kind of far... that would be one heck of a fire storm if it made it this far. But it is always scary when fire hits the foothills.

I feel ya business mom, I have the flu too.

uh oh...new fire......up Angeles Crest......that' explains why we're seeing smoke. It's in La Canada mile marker 29 - five miles up the highway. Only 12 acres...and are attacking it aggressily

There's a fire burning 5 miles North of La Canada. Couldn't figure out if it was from this fire or the Azusa fire that made the air quality in Montrose so bad!! That was around 2pm. News is reporting that Azusa fire was started by a person. Cause of La Canada's not known.

Probably a descending big-rig with it's brakes
fully engulfed in flames. Watch out!

Yeah, air is getting smoke filled outside, glad
it's not windy.

I smoke too, but not much since this happened. Just a bad sore throat and running a fever.

Bill and I have been sick for a little over a week - sore throat, cough, congestion. He had aches and pains and fever, too, but I didn't so we may have different things.

And, to get back on topic, the water dropping helicopters have been landing/hovering up in Deukmejian to fill up with water from a hydrant there. Bill was up on the roof taking pictures when I got home from tutoring.

There's a brief mention of the La Canada fire from the AP here:

LA County Fire Dept. Erickson Air-Crane refilling its water tank at Deukmejian Wilderness Park, and taking off past Mt. Lukens:

Edited Sep 1, 2009, to correct the above - the Erickson was refueling, not taking on water.

I am seeing what looks to me like ash fallout, should I be worried?
Where does one go to keep up to date of the fire situation?

Thanks!
