Well we've all heard it. 'What to you want to be when you grow up?'. Well what are you right now and what did you want to be when you were a kid? Or if you're a kid now, what do you want to be when you grow up? Remember, this is just for fun so post away!

Example (for adults):
What I wanted to be when I grew up: Movie Star

What I am now: Bank Accountant

Example (for kids):
What I want to be when I grow up: Princess

Why do I want to be that: Because, that's how special I am!

P.S. It's a joke!

What I want to be when I grow up: A Veterinarian

Why do I want to be that: Because I want to not just help animals, but people too (but I don't want to be sued for everything that can go wrong!) and I also want to further the knowledge of people and their animals and how they can take better care of them so that their animals live a long and happy life.

Ok, I don't know what I want to be later yet. But right now I am a Student, lemonade stand owner, and soon a car washer.

I wanted to be a teacher and I am a teacher. I also wanted to be a veterinarian, but I couldn't handle the tragedies.

There were two things I wanted to be when I was a kid - a mom and a writer. I have one now grown son so I accomplished that, and I write now more than I ever have. My writing is known up and down the Western Mojave, Owens Valley and the Eastern Sierras, and even Death Valley, thanks to my website and my backcountry adventures. I'm also a backcountry tour guide...which is something I wouldn't have dreamed up in a million years...although I thought being a Forest Ranger would be nice...so this is a close second to that.

Hard to believe now, but when my son was little, I also wanted to be a church secretary and I was a volunteer one for about 4 years. Then I wanted to be be a receptionist and I did that for 13 years at Verdugo Hills YMCA.

My goals are always changing....but writing and traveling the backcountry dirt roads is always a part of it, and the experiences I have had in my earlier goals have actually prepared me for the things I am currently doing in a strange way. My latest goal is to be a published writer and a speaker. I've had the pleasure of speaking at one history conference, one museum, and one campfire talk at a campground. I've been asked to speak at another history conference January 2008. so I guess I'm working on being a speaker. The first history conference presentation I made is a chapter in the book they published after the conference, and so will my next presentation. But the biggest is yet to come......I may be signing a contract for my first book soon......cross your fingers!

I'm living proof that a little girl who really didn't know what she wanted to do in life can find herself and keep growing even when she's 55. Hey - I've got another 50 years to do much more with my life, too! You never know where life is going to take you when you are a kid, and your dreams may constantly be re-defined throughout your life. It's all a part of the adventure of life! What fun you have ahead of you trying to figure it all out!

I wanted to be a parapsychologist. I became a nurse and a Mom instead. Wouldn't trade it for the world. Oh, wait, son acting up. Maybe I can still go back to school and.......

Whalelover!!!

I wanted to be a nurse and a mommy!!! I am a p/t office manager and a mommy & wife. Before that I had a career as a toy developer.

I really enjoy taking care of the office and orgainzing. Raising kids and being a wife is very rewarding.

My 4 year old wants to be a Power Ranger when he grows up. Sometimes he wants to be a librarier (librarian) or a cartographer (mapmaker). My 3 year old wants to be 4.

BB,

My 4 year old is really into maps. The Dora the Explorer Show has a character "Map". I think that got him going. He can spend lots of time making maps. They might not look like a map to anyone else, but he uses them to get to treasure or to reach a geographic site of his choosing.
